Description

Objectives:
To determine feasibility of using a mobile application to guide parents in pain managmeent of their children post tonsillectomy.

Methods:
Parents were asked to assess and record pain intensity and medication use using a mobile application.

Results:
The application was used a median of 4 days. Only 36% of patients used oxycodone post operatively. Of these, 90% took fewer than 10 doses.

Conclusion:
From our pilot, there appears an opportunity to reduce opioid prescribing.
