Description

Health IT solutions can decrease healthcare costs and improve patients outcomes by the implementation of patient-centered care, disease prevention, and health promotion strategies. For a successful and efficient implementation of a Health IT Program, a well-defined target population is crucial. This study aimed to identify target demographic groups for health informatics solutions using The Health Information National Trends Survey 5 with a total of 3285 participants.

Describe the new knowledge and additional skills the participant will gain after attending your presentation.:
This study aimed to identify target demographic groups for health informatics solutions and to determine the utility of currently available health IT solutions.
Identifying the right target for mobile health intervention is crucial for successful implementation strategies. Targeted interventions are more cost-effective compared to universal interventions. Furthermore, individuals value tailored care rather than standardized health intervention.
People who use electronic devices including smartphones and tablets, interested in health promotion, and actively look for health information, are the best target population for a mobile health solution. A large population-based survey to characterize this group will provide insight into potential targets for mobile health solutions.
