Raven is a real-time event detection and alerting tool which HCA developed to provide targeted clinical decision support across its enterprise. This presentation will detail the preparation and standardization necessary to ensure success, as well as lessons learned, including strategies for adoption, the benefits of a close relationship between IT&S and Clinical Services, the pros and cons of various communication channels, and opportunities for data capture and learning.

The proposed presentation will detail the preparation and standardization necessary to ensure success, as well as lessons learned, strategies for adoption, the benefits of a close relationship between IT&S and Clinical Services, the pros and cons of various communication channels, and opportunities for data capture and learning. The material is intended to assist other institutions considering similar clinical decision support projects and to prompt discussion about best practices in intelligently disseminating context-sensitive clinical data.
