Description

Electronic health records (EHRs) have been an important source of knowledge for clinical discoveries in regards to evidence-based practices, population scale healthcare data analytics, and developing prediction models. EHRs contain large amounts of data regarding patients' medical encounters; however, critical information can be buried within the EHR. Our software framework creates visualizations of EHR data, providing comprehensive views of patient health states to drive more informed clinical decisions.

Describe the new knowledge and additional skills the participant will gain after attending your presentation.: Attendees will understand the process of transforming raw, clinical data into a visual and comprehensive form, using combinations of clinical indicators to define health states to show how patients move between states. Additionally, this presentation will discuss the significant impact that such visualizations can have on treatment selection, knowledge discovery, personalized care, and population healthcare data analytics.
