Description

Organizations have established best practices in testing and development of electronic health record (EHR) implementations and customizations. As other healthcare organizations undertake similar initiatives it is imperative that informatics professionals support each other across organizations to deliver safe and effective health information technology. Currently, best practices are not frequently published or described in detail. Advancements in clinical informatics can be more easily sustained by publishing organizational best practices and implementation analyses.

Describe the new knowledge and additional skills the participant will gain after attending your presentation.: Attendees will be able to identify topics related to testing and development of electronic health records (EHRs) that currently are underrepresented in the literature and, if further documented, could improve the safe and effective use of health information technology. Attendees will additionally learn best practices and strategies for capturing, organizing, and retaining similar knowledge at their institution.
