Description

This presentation will share lessons learned from the ONC Sync for Genes Phase 2 (S4GP2) project regarding gaps and challenges pilot sites encountered as they implemented and tested systems that transmit clinical genomic information to the point of care. S4GP2 is a collaboration between government and industry to further develop and increase adoption of the HL7® FHIR® genomic profiles in the clinical environment, and build-out the standard to encompass other genomics-related activities.

Describe the new knowledge and additional skills the participant will gain after attending your presentation.: Attendees will learn about the experiences of sites that are using Health Level 7 (HL7®) Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR®) to enable the use of clinical genomic information at the point of care. This presentation will share lessons learned from the ONC Sync for Genes Phase 2 (S4GP2) project regarding the gaps and challenges pilot sites encountered as they implemented and tested systems that transmit clinical genomic information to the point of care. Attendees will learn of strategies for effectively mapping clinical genomics reports to FHIR and enabling the use of clinical genomics information at the point of care by leveraging the HL7 FHIR Specification and the Clinical Genomics DAM.
