Description

Peri-operative education of the surgical patient is traditionally centered upon the office visit with the surgeon and bedside teaching prior to discharge. Mobile smart phone applications represent a novel widely-usable format for patient education and reminders of key per-operative events to enhance surgical experience. We present our experience in the development of a mobile application with secure push messaging designed to inform and educate our surgical patients.
