Description

The Joint Commission requires Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) to evaluate provider quality of care. After a third-party vendor did not meet the needs for the hospital, UChicago Medicine looked to develop a tool internally. Challenges with this included the ability to identify relevant metrics and attribution methods. There were also considerations of data quality, update frequency and report scalability. Previous work to develop an organizational quality scorecard in Tableau provided a foundation to address this need. How this foundation was utilized and additional methods to develop the report are discussed to equip those looking to report organizational data at an individualized level at their hospital.

Describe the new knowledge and additional skills the participant will gain after attending your presentation.: Walking through our development strategy for provider level quality reporting that leveraged the existing data architecture for our organizational quality scorecard will provide a foundation for attendees to do the same at their organization. The challenges that arose during development and deployment of the report can better equip those looking to report individualized data for providers.
