UPMC began Leapfrog CPOE testing in December 2017 with an average score of 42.9%. After eight months and more than 60 new pop-up alerts, hospitals testing in August 2018 averaged 78.9%. This talk will review the processes used to govern the decisions made and the content of many of the rules implemented. Attending this session should provide a framework to repeat the process at your health system and significantly improve your Leapfrog CPOE scores.

Describe the new knowledge and additional skills the participant will gain after attending your presentation.: This talk will briefly review the CPOE CDS literature, including the December 2017 Leapfrog Townhall by David Bates and David Classen, processes used to govern the decisions made and the content of many of the rules implemented. We will also discuss many of the errors and pitfalls made along the way and subsequent changes to the alerts.
