Description

Healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) are a major concern in healthcare, and health information technology (IT) can be leveraged to play a role in preventing HAIs. We conducted 198 interviews across eight U.S. hospitals to determine how health IT is being used to facilitate HAI prevention. Results show varying ways that health is used for HAI prevention, as well as opportunities to improve health IT systems for HAI prevention.

Describe the new knowledge and additional skills the participant will gain after attending your presentation.: -Identify ways that hospitals leverage their health IT systems to facilitate prevention of HAIs
-Explain opportunities to improve health IT's role in prevention of HAIs
