Description

Innovative methods of data visualization are necessary to realize the benefits of evidence-based medicine. We designed web-based, interactive evidence maps for the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) comparing interventions for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) fatigue. After performing a systematic review/meta-analysis, we summarized evidence from 282 studies in 3 maps, focusing on improved fatigue, quality of life, and adverse effects, with direct links to underlying evidence.

Describe the new knowledge and additional skills the participant will gain after attending your presentation.: Participants will become familiar with evidence maps as strategy for visualizing large volumes of data in a user-friendly and intuitive format. Participants will also recognize capabilities of web-based maps for providing users direct links to evidence.
