Description

Contrast imaging plays a central role in the diagnosis, staging, and treatment of cancer and has significantly increased during the last decade. Adverse contrast media events (ACME) are inevitable and expected to rise. Unfortunately, the diagnosis of such events is often non-standardized and documentation is fragmented in the EHR leading to challenges in population level analysis. Therefore, a structured decision support tool based on American College of Radiology (ACR) guidelines was created. Initial usability results with five radiologists were positive.

Describe the new knowledge and additional skills the participant will gain after attending your presentation.: The participant will gain knowledge in the use of decision support to standardize the diagnosis of contrast media events using electronic health record systems.
