Description

The purpose of this study was to characterize use of copy-paste at an institutional level with aim of eventually generating national benchmark data. We also stratified use patterns by specialties which revealed significant variances in note generation practices by specialty. Medical specialty notes tended to be longer but also contained larger amounts of copied content than surgical specialties.

Describe the new knowledge and additional skills the participant will gain after attending your presentation.: Participants will understand variances in copy-paste patterns at one institution and may be able to use this data to assess their own organization’s performance. Our goal is to expand this reporting to a multi-center collaboration where national benchmark data can be generated. Participants may be able to join in future reporting efforts if interested.
