With the fast-paced patient portal implementations and patient-facing Health IT (information technology) apps, patients and families are generating more questions regarding mobile health than ever before. Since nurses serve as a main source for patient education and family guidance, it is important to understand the readiness level of nurses to answer questions related to Health IT tools. This poster will describe our approach to measure nurse readiness, lessons learned and our recommendations for future work.

Describe the new knowledge and additional skills the participant will gain after attending your presentation.: Participants will understand the lessons learned from assessing nurse readiness to engage patients and families with Health IT tools using a survey instrument. These lessons may assist with desinging the implementation of patient-facing tools.
