Description
The Gleason score characterizes the microscopic morphology of a prostate tumor and is an important finding for tumor staging. The lack of a standard syntax for reporting Gleason scores in pathology reports complicates automated extraction by natural language processing techniques. In this poster we present a software tool for the parallel extraction of Gleason scores from unstructured electronic health records.
Describe the new knowledge and additional skills the participant will gain after attending your presentation.:
The attendee will learn about ClarityNLP, a software tool for computational phenotyping. The attendee will also understand the extent to which the ClarityNLP Gleason score extractor can be customized for different research needs.
