Description
Cancer management is complex and requires availability and synthesis of numerous data to make appropriate decisions. Clinical decision support (CDS) is an effective implementation strategy to support complex decisions. We therefore conducted a systematic review to identify CDS that have been used to support decision making in cancer settings. Outcomes of interest were effect on providers and patients. Twelve studies met inclusion, with wide variability in the results. In conclusion, CDS to guide cancer treatment and supportive care decision making is an understudied area.

1. Understand what clinical decision support is and why it might offer an effective intervention to improve care in cancer settings to guide treatment and supportive care decision making.
2. Describe CDS that have been studied in cancer settings to guide treatment and/or supportive care decision making.
