Description
This presentation will discuss the expanding use of secure messaging in the inpatient environment. Our study compares demographic and health characteristics of patients who send messages and those who do not send messages. In addition, we also apply and expand an existing taxonomy of message senders, types and topics to describe patterns of use.
Describe the new knowledge and additional skills the participant will gain after attending your presentation.: Attendees will be able to understand relevant differences between inpatient and outpatient portals as well as describe characteristics of patients who use secure messages.
