Description

DoD and VA providers currently access multiple clinical systems and review each record in order to obtain a longitudinal picture of a patient's record, resulting in increased cognitive load for the healthcare team. We present a tool developed BY clinicians FOR clinicians, using a commercially available application, that enables providers to quickly identify and extract clinical content for search and report generation, aiding informed clinical decision-making at the point of care.

Describe the new knowledge and additional skills the participant will gain after attending your presentation.: At the end of the session the attendee should have a clearer understanding of the value of engaging clinicians early on in the design process of clinical decision support tools. Additionally, the attendee should be empowered with tools that help make the case to administrators as to the value of this collaboration, both in terms of time and costs savings.
