Description

We will share the results of our Optimization efforts with 55 ambulatory practices at Penn Medicine. Our goals were to improve efficiency in the EHR, improve quality of care and increase provider satisfaction. We were able to successfully improve the efficiency of over 300 physicians, advanced practice provider’s and support staff by reducing time in the system, improving response time to routine and critical results and increasing utilization of available tools in the EHR. We will demonstrate objective improvements and share positive feedback received from our end users.

Describe the new knowledge and additional skills the participant will gain after attending your presentation.: At the conclusion of this presentation, attendees will be able to create an EHR optimization strategy for their home institution. They will receive detailed guidance from presenters about shadowing end users, developing an assessment and plan, and creating educaitonal materials. Attendees will be able to identify key players necessary for implementaton of this optimization plan, methods of education of end users, and how to measure success.
