Given the emphasis of data in learning health systems (LHS), informatics is expected to play a prominent role. The objective of this study was to understand how leaders in different domains of informatics were conceptualizing LHS and the role of informatics in LHS. Interviews with six informatics experts ndicates some consensus around LHS definitions. However, there is a need to better articulate role of informatics in LHS.
